DOGS return to Gallery 525 for their 2nd Annual Dachshund Fine Art Photography pop-up exhibit Saturday, Dec. 5 and Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015. Dachshund Outreach Giving and Socialization (DOGS) partners with the photo blog Rufus on the Web to entertain, engage and educate the dachshund loving public with its original images. This year’s theme is black and white. The famed doxarazzie photographer Johnny Ortez-Tibbels will showcase his signature hounds against a high-key, clean and crisp white backdrop as always. But, this year he’ll also debut some of his favorite hot dogs against a black backdrop creating a nice visual contrast and pairing.
The dachshund breed consists of three different coat types and countless color combinations. The show will feature a small cross-section of these loveable low-riders both in posed professional portraits and in a more casual Ojai lifestyle setting. All dachshund enthusiasts and dog lovers are welcome. The intimate venue is small-dog friendly; so if you have a well-socialized hound of the hour, consider bringing him.
On Sunday, Dec. 6, there will be a catered celebratory reception from 1 pm to 4 pm. The artist will be on hand for meet and greets both days, and will most likely be snapping a few candid shots as inspiration strikes throughout the two-day event. Life saving literature from Dodger’s List, the leading authority on IVDD, will be offered to anyone looking to learn more information on the disc disease and preventative measures one can take in the breed with its infamous long backs.
The artist and company will also have available some limited-edition T-shirts, a hoodie, two different totes, greeting cards, other specialty items, and of course, autographed copies his book 102 Dachshunds. There will even be an official custom, create your own Hug-a-dog harness via our special Dachshund Delights consultant. All the profits raised during the two-day event will be used to create some new and fun educational events in 2016.
