As an active member of the dachshund community, Photographer Johnny Ortez-Tibbels has been photographing dachshunds for the last 10 years.   He started the non-profit DOGS, (Dachshund Outreach Giving and Socialization), which serves dachshunds in raising awareness and funds towards the prevention of diseases particular to Dachshunds and also hosts health-creating, socialization events.  In June 2013, he moved from Los Angeles to Ojai with his husband, Hollywood Producer Kirkland Tibbels. They live with their three miniature dachshunds: Rufus, Emily and Lily.
