John Aaron
Sculptor, Painter
John is an artist, www.romancingthesmoke.blogspot.com author, and performer who also founded CHALK4PEACE, the global non-profit chalk art project. A painter and sculptor, John’s fascination with Surrealism dates back to first seeing Dali’s Persistence of Memory (1931) when he was a wee lad. He lives in Ojai.
His rap/rant, Yo Dali, is a brief overview of the artist’s life.
John is the author of the illustrated memoir, Romancing The Smoke: Reflections of a
Nicotine Addict, published by Createspace and available in paperback and Kindle at
Amazon and in distinctive bookstores.
Seen/Unseen is John’s first exhibition with Gallery 525. He is very pleased to be included in the show.
Artist's Statement:
For me, the juxtaposition of disparate imagery is the most compelling aspect of Surrealism. Combining things that don’t make sense or don’t belong together sometimes make even more sense when they’re combined.- J.A.
