In tribute to David Bowie, the song "Satellite of Love" inspires the current Artists' Valentine's Day Show at Gallery 525. “Satellite of Love” was a song by Lou Reed that came out in 1972, which included David Bowie on background vocals. In addition, David Bowie produced the song “Satellite of Love” and the album it came out on called “Transformer."
This super creative group Artists’ Valentine’s Day show will showcase intriguing interpretations to the Bowie-inspired theme by artists from all backgrounds and use of artistic media, all within a 12” x 12” format. From two-dimensional painting, drawing, prints to the three-dimensional art forms of assemblage, ceramics, sculpture, lusterware and jewelry, Satellite of Love will share some truly brilliant spins on love in the cosmos. All are invited to the Opening Reception on Saturday, February 13, 5 to 8pm at Gallery 525 for art, music and surprises on open microphone.
